Product testing for the industrial sector
Conformity analysis for safely bringing your product to market
Before placing a product on the market, you have to demonstrate that it is safe, compliant and ready to be sold in its destination country. With Enginext you can manage testing in a clear, guided way, without chasing different laboratories or trying to decipher unclear regulations. We support companies operating in Italy and abroad, including non-EU businesses, that want to sell in Europe and need reliable laboratory tests and documentation, in line with the regulations in force.
What product testing is for and when it is needed
Product tests verify that a physical good meets the safety and conformity requirements before it goes on sale. Depending on the product and the target market, different checks may be required.
In many cases the tests are part of the path leading to certification and CE marking, or they may be aimed at checking variants and updated components. They can also be used to demonstrate that the product meets the requirements for applying for funding and tax incentives [link to the Tax Incentives page].
A well-structured testing path helps you to:
- demonstrate compliance with the safety standards required by the market;
- prevent non-conformities that could cause delays, hold-ups or rework;
- limit the risk of costly recalls;
- keep checks, results and supporting documentation well organised throughout the go-to-market phase.
What Enginext handles
We manage and coordinate every phase of the process, from the preliminary analysis to the technical documentation.
Preliminary analysis
We assess the product’s requirements and the target market, defining the most effective testing process. Where applicable, testing is often one step along the path to drafting the complete technical file.
Tests, inspections and technical checks
We can run tests at our own laboratory or at partner laboratories that we coordinate directly, relieving the client of any management burden. Specifically, we handle:
- electromagnetic compatibility tests;
- electrical safety tests;
- vibration tests.
Complete technical documentation
Throughout the testing process we plan the required checks, make sure the tests have been carried out correctly and handle the related documentation, which the manufacturer can use to draft the declaration of conformity.
Everything through a single
point of contact
When tests involve several parties (internal teams, laboratories, possible third-party bodies), dealers and manufacturers risk losing time and valuable information in the hand-offs. That is why Enginext acts as a single point of contact: we coordinate every activity, reducing complexity and fragmentation for the client.
Manufacturers and dealers
in any industrial sector that need to certify the safety and conformity of a product built from scratch or converted
Manufacturers
of hazardous products, which may require the involvement of a Notified Body
Startups
that have developed an innovative product and want to bring it to market while meeting the safety requirements

Frequently
asked questions
Do you run all checks and tests in-house?
Some tests require specialist equipment. Where possible, we run the checks in-house; otherwise we rely on partner facilities we work with, overseeing and managing the entire process.
Are tests only for CE Certification?
No. Testing is often part of the CE Certification path (where it applies), but it can also be required for other purposes, for example to provide technical evidence requested by customers or sales channels, or to verify a change or variant of an existing product.
Do you also test variants, extensions or modifications of existing products?
Yes, we often work on individual parts of a project.
What happens if a product does not pass a test?
Tests can be repeated until they are fully passed. To reduce the risk of non-conformity, a preliminary risk analysis is often carried out before moving into the testing phase.
Do you work with companies that sell abroad or only in Italy?
We support Italian, European and international clients.
Do you also carry out product development tests (during the design phase)?
It can happen, although more rarely than regulatory testing: tests at the design stage are typically “development” tests (to check that the product works), while “regulatory” tests are those required to access certification. On the development side, we can also run bespoke calculations and simulations [link to the Calculation and simulations page].
Do you also run tests for access to funding and incentives?
Yes, we run tests for certifications needed to access funding and incentives, such as those required for the ISI INAIL call [link to the ISI INAIL page].
How much does a product test cost?
Costs vary depending on the service requested, the number and type of tests and any involvement of external parties. We provide quotes tailored to the client’s needs.
