Technical assessments for the industry
Technical reports for products, systems, and industrial machinery
Enginext certifies products, machinery, and entire industrial systems by preparing the necessary documentation to access tax credits or any other fiscal benefits provided by regional and national grants or funding programs.
We offer our clients a precise and reliable service, backed by in-depth regulatory expertise. At Enginext, we independently perform all the necessary verifications to help small, medium, and large enterprises upgrade their machinery while also accessing significant tax benefits. Specifically, we ensure that the industrial equipment complies with all technical, technological, and safety requirements mandated by the relevant regulations.
Our clients can rely on us to obtain a detailed technical assessment of individual machinery, both pre- and post-installation, to be attached to the documentation required by the funding authority.
Additionally, we prepare general reports for mass-produced products, providing a valuable tool for manufacturers looking to differentiate themselves in the market with additional certifications, setting themselves apart from competitors.
Specifically, we handle:
- Preliminary analysis of the relevant regulations and requirements of the fiscal initiative the client wishes to participate in;
- Verification of the machinery, product, or system both pre-installation (ex ante) and post-installation (ex post) to ensure compliance with all necessary criteria for eligibility for tax benefits;
- Preparation of the technical dossier for the assessment, to be delivered to the client for grant or funding application submission.
What is it?
In our country, there are various tax incentives available for small, medium, and large enterprises seeking to upgrade or innovate their machinery and equipment. These incentives include partial or full grants, tax credits, and fiscal benefits that support the purchase of tangible and intangible capital goods—such as bakery and butchery machinery, medical instruments for dental clinics, laser cutting systems for steel plants, or milking systems for the agricultural sector.
However, these benefits can only be obtained by meeting specific guidelines. National and regional grants, such as the MADE 4.0 grant, the PNR, INAIL safety grants, or the Industry 4.0 Plan—now evolving into Transition 5.0—are frequently updated and come with different access requirements. The documentation required to apply for these incentives often includes a technical assessment of the machinery being acquired.
At Enginext, we assist companies and businesses in obtaining the certified documentation needed to secure their desired tax contribution. This also serves as a protective measure against potential post-funding audits and inspections.
How we can help you
Enginext leverages its expertise to prepare general reports on product characteristics and detailed technical assessments, including sworn reports, to facilitate access to national grants, non-repayable funding, tax incentives, and fiscal benefits available for the industrial sector.
Specifically, we handle:
Evaluation of the appropriate process based on client needs
A consultation with the client is essential to evaluate their requirements and determine the correct process to follow. This preliminary phase helps us understand whether the client needs a general report to certify the product’s characteristics or a technical assessment, which is essential for accessing funding and tax credits.
Verification of capital goods
We verify that the product or industrial machinery meets all the necessary technical, technological, and safety requirements to qualify for the desired tax incentive. Depending on the type of funding program, this certification can be conducted before purchase (ex ante), after installation (ex post), or both.
Preparation of the technical assessment dossier
We draft the necessary document, highlighting the inspected capital asset’s characteristics, and deliver it to the client for submission.

Frequently asked questions
Do you conduct technical assessments independently, or do you rely on external partners?
We perform all necessary verifications in-house for machinery and products, both ex ante (before purchase) and ex post (after installation).
I want to apply for the Industry 4.0 tax credit. Can I rely on you?
Absolutely! We can take care of the entire process. In the past five years, we have conducted over 1,000 assessments in the Industry 4.0 sector.
Do you directly issue the technical assessment?
At Enginext, we handle both the product verification and the preparation of the technical dossier required by the grant. We deliver the report directly to the client, who can then submit it to their trusted consultant to start the administrative process for the funding application.
I need a sworn technical assessment for court proceedings. Do you provide this service?
All our assessments are certified, meaning that as technical certifiers, we verify and certify the accuracy of the information in the documents. If a sworn technical assessment is required (such as for Industry 4.0 applications), we also provide this service, signing the document in front of a public official.
Do you conduct technical assessments for INAIL contribution applications?
Yes! In this case, to obtain the technical document, our team will evaluate on-site whether the replacement machinery improves workplace safety. We can also handle documentary verifications for projects and machinery before purchase.
I run a bakery and want to apply for a grant to obtain a tax benefit. Do you offer technical assessments for small businesses?
Yes! At Enginext, we support small, medium, and large companies in any industrial sector, from food processing to medical applications.
How much does a technical assessment for the industrial sector cost?
Costs vary depending on the requested service. A report prepared and signed by a technician to certify a product’s characteristics has a different price than a certified or sworn assessment. During the preliminary analysis phase, we always provide a customized quote based on specific needs..
Do you handle any type of funding program, including international grants?
At Enginext, we specialize in the verification of industrial products and machinery for all types of regional and national grants. We only operate in the Italian market, but we can prepare general reports for importers selling their products in Italy, allowing them to provide technical documentation for their clients and dealers.
Do you also handle monitoring services?
Currently, Enginext focuses exclusively on capital goods verification, preparing specific product documentation, and technical assessments for funding applications.
I want to apply for the Industry 4.0 grant. What happens if I purchase capital equipment without a technical assessment?
For Industry 4.0 grants, a technical assessment is mandatory for investments over €300,000 and optional for lower-cost machinery and products (in which case, a self-declaration is sufficient). Even though this grant is in its final phase, it is always advisable to complete the required assessment to avoid issues. Regulatory authorities, such as the Italian Revenue Agency, can verify the accuracy of company-provided information for up to five years after the first installment of the tax credit. Any inconsistencies could result in penalties and the full repayment of the benefit, including interest.
